New Year Party Organization During Pandemic. We all are ready to welcome 2021 and going to say goodbye to 2020. The year of bad luck and miss fortunes. The 2020 is the only that no one is going to miss because of the pandemic. Economic downfall, covid-19 and all the misfortunes that we have faced. Now when we are all set to start 2021 with the great pomp and show here is a tip for everyone, “if you don’t celebrate it safe on 31st December, you are not gonna have a safe 2021.”

As we all know CDC has suggested that celebrate events Indoor & Virtually or if you are having outdoor gathering you must maintain the safety guidelines that are given to prevent covid-19.Here are some tips to organize the New Year Party during the Pandemic.

New Year Party Organization

  • Check the guest list – If you are planning a party whether it’s indoor or outdoor. Just try to keep your guest list as small as you can. You should celebrate your New Year’s Eve fun and safe with those people. Who live in your neighborhood or your very close friends to maintain the safety guidelines.
  • Safe Environment for Safe Party- If you are hosting a party you should definitely follow the safety measures. Such as creating a sanitizer station, social distant sitting arrangement, check everyone’s temperature before entering. Make sure everyone is wearing mask to avoid the virus.
  • Pajama Party with the BYOA Fun- You can also organize a pajama party with your some special guest and have fun all night in the most comfortable clothing. You should definitely try BYOA (bring your own appetizer) arrangement to avoid the headache of preparing dinner & snacks. Let’s see what your guest are gonna bring for the party?
  • Get Ready with the Mask and Sanitizer- Either you are inviting guest at your home or going out have party, you must not forget to keep your mask on and Sanitizer to keep away from any germs or virus. *Social distinction with masks – every when you must follow the rule of social distancing, while arranging seating’s, on stage with proper signs and indications. Everybody must wear a mask while entering the venue to avoid in transmitted flu.

*Hygienic Staff – Ensure that the staff must pay attention towards safety protocol. Such as wearing marks, gloves, face shield while interacting physically with guests or any other person. Must maintain the social distance and practice sterilization after several minutes.

*Temperature Scanning – Every person may arrive from different locations. The venue must have temperature scanning facility so, it’ll help to detect any early signs of virus. They should have a medical team also to take any quick emergency steps for the safety measures.

*Food Preparation – You must examine the Catering and ensure the food is hygienic, safe & yummy. All the ingredients are washed and disinfected so, you can eat Safe and Healthy food.

Wedding guidelines are issued by government. And especially if you were all set to get married soon and this happened! How would you handle this situation? Is it going to be a private affair now or you are thinking of postponing it or just want to elope with your spouse! Amusing…No!

Ok, let’s talk about it on ground. You want to make it happen on the scheduled date only. Then first and foremost is uninviting your guests who can be avoided on the day of celebration. Of course you write a personal note/letter to them stating the reason. If they love you, they would definitely understand it. You can arrange for a virtual zoom session on the day of wedding so that they can attend it live. It’s quite a holistic approach.

Next is to contact your wedding planners or the employees responsible for your event management. Tell them your constraints. Also tell them to keep extra care of hygiene and cleanliness. You should check it yourself that they are following your instructions on ground or not. All SOPs should be finalized by having a meeting (personal or virtual) with the CEO of your event management company. How are you going to take care of your guests should be your top priority. And Event planners also will have to train their staff to follow safety norms.

In fact, there should be SOP’s for all Event Management Companies right from tent decorations, other vendors for fruits and sweets, welcoming guests, catering services, and table-chair arrangements  with proper social distancing. Wedding venue should be well ventilated, spacious and airy. There should be thermal screening of guests at the entry point only. All sofa sets, carpets and table chairs should be sanitized from time to time.

Wedding Guidelines

Across the venue, hoteliers and venue owners should ensure that all chairs, sofas and seat cover, carpets and rugs are regularly changed, cleaned, washed and treated with M.A.D (Microbial Aerial Disinfection) before every event. Such steps are important to help maintain high standards of sanitization to reduce potential spread across events and significantly reduce risks. Infact, you can have different time slots for different guests like you have for parents of each class during PTM in school.

Also, if you are having buffet service in catering then mark the places on floor or carpet where the guests would stand in a queue. And we have table laid for dinner/lunch then spead these tables widely to avoid overcrowding. Avoid using raw items or salads in food menu and serve hot food only. Instead of crockery, using disposable eco friendly plates would be a good idea. Hand sanitizers should be available at every nook and corner of the wedding venue.

As far as beauty and makeup is concerned for groom and bride, we can have minimum touch policy by using PPE kits , head gears, gloves and masks while holding makeup and grooming seesion.

And the last thing is…do not invite more than 50 guests for the time being! This will sort out most things for your Big Event.

ARE WEDDINGS REALLY SAFE THESE DAYS?

With cases rising daily in India and all over the world, there should be certain norms that could be followed during a wedding ceremony these days, some of them are-

  • Venues should only reopen if they can do it safely. It should take place in open area rather than close halls.
  • Wedding ceremonies should be as short as possible
  • Group singing or dancing should be avoided
  • No food or drink should be consumed from outside unless it is necessary for the function. There can be home-made cook food rather than ordering from outside as that will be safer.
  • According to the guidelines issued by the government, a maximum of fifty people can allowed in a ceremony, this will include all the guests, the photographer and the priest.
  • The most important should be social distancing, it should be maintained at all possible times.
  • The venue could keep a record of all the visitors for 21 days, so that they can track them if needed.
  • The unnecessary wedding ceremonies can cancelled, like the reception and mehndi and rather than keeping different days for ring ceremony and wedding ceremony, they can be simply clubbed together and kept on same day.
  • People should wear masks and gloves all the time and proper sanitisation and temperature checks should take place.

WEDDING NORMS and DIGITAL WEDDINGS

The strict measures of lockdown didn’t really work for everyone. The world has become more digitalized, everything is taking place online through video calls and in fact many matrimonial sites are going for digital weddings. The bride and groom can just be safe at their respective home and all the guests could join a video call and help in making the ceremony successful and happy.
